Science Centre Singapore features the largest collection of science-related educational materials in the country. Opened in December 1977, it covers a total of 10 hectares, with the main building being designed by Raymond Woo. The institution houses a thousand interactive exhibits spread across 14 galleries, all of which can be explored by the next wave of scientists. Some of the permanent exhibitions include the Ecogarden, where various plants are grown naturally, and Quirky, where unique innovations are displayed.

Apart from the Omni-Theatre and the Snow City, another well-visited attraction at Science Centre Singapore is the Butterflies Up-close Exhibit. It illustrates the growth of butterflies from an egg into a winged adult. The exhibit is home to over 500 butterflies of more than 15 species, including the rose butterfly and the Malayan lacewing. Recommended to be toured within 45 minutes to an hour, the Butterflies Up-close Exhibit is where you can have a deeper insight on how the creatures interact with the surroundings and survive every life stage.
