With a glorious history of thousands of years, the Land of Marathas will never disappoint when it comes to food. From the world-famous Misal Pav to the delicious Sheera, Maharashtrian cuisine has a lot to offer to foodies. The variety of salads, chutneys, and pickle in a thali is just amazing. The cuisine covers a wide range from mild to very spicy dishes. Wheat, rice, jowar, bajri, vegetables, lentils and fruit form staples of the Maharashtrian diet.
In this cook and dine experience, I am going to present you an authentic Maharashtrian thali inculcating flavours of the Malvan and Kokan region and a touch of typical Maharashtrian household recipes. Most of these recipes are passed down from our generations in our family. Once you savour the refreshing welcome drink, we will move towards the kitchen and start our home-based cooking class. I will be guiding you to make everyone’s favourite appetizer, Batata Wada (a street-food snack made with mashed potatoes) and traditional Sheera (sweet porridge dish cooked in home-made desi ghee). Along with these dishes, you will also relish Konkani Chicken Curry, Egg Curry, Vangyache Bharit (Fire-roasted Aubergine preparation), and a lot more.
The entire meal experience will last for 2-3 hours.
