Description

The meeting place for the Haunted Hyde Park tour is the portal into the 'White City', the location of the 1892 Colombian Exposition. The walk behind the Museum of Science and Industry and into Jackson Park is a journey into the past, present and future of Jackson Park. The Osaka Garden and Wooded Island are the backdrop for stories about H.H. Holmes, the Cold Storage Building fire, Clarence Darrow's Ghost and more. The tour walks through Midway Plaisance and the Gothic Architecture of the University of Chicago. While on campus, the tour will delve into the mystery of Professor Culianu's murder, the Lipstick Killer's dual personalities, Ghost stories at the Frank Lloyd Wright Robie House and real-life mummies at the Oriental Institute.

As the tour winds its way back to the meeting place, you will pass by a number of old book stores and restaurants on the historic 57th Street Cultural Corridor.
