Description

Gorakhgad attracts trekkers due to its exciting climb to the pinnacle, which offer good opportunities for rock-climbing. This region of Gorakhgad and Machhindragad has a dense forest cover.


Gorakhgad had strategic importance during the reign of Shahaji Raje. It was used in Shivaji’s era to patrol the nearby region and was used as a stopover station during the journey to Junnar via Naneghat. The fort gets its name from Saint Gorakhnath, who performed his “Sadhana” in this place


Travel Itinerary:


18th November, Saturday


21:45 - Assemble at Kalyan ST bus stand. It is located in Kalyan west outside railway station


22:30 - Transfer to Dehri village by ST bus.


01:00 - Reach base village and start ascending Gorakhgad


03:30 - Reach at caves and keep your bags in caves. Rest for few hours


19th November, Sunday.


06:00 - Early morning wake up call. Have morning breakfast and start for pinnacle climbing which is the best part of this trek. Explore the top.


10:00 - Start descending. Reach to Dheri


12:00 - Have lunch at Dehri village and transfer Kalyan station by transport.


14:30 - Reach Kalyan. Trek concludes with Happy Memories
