Description

This trek connects two of the most beautiful forts of Sahyadris - Ratangad and Harishchandragarh through Katrabai pass which connects Igatpuri region and Malshej region.

Ratangad, Jewel of forts, was Shivaji Maharaj’s favourite. The trek to Ratangad is through riverbeds, thick canopy, steel ladders and thick grass. At the top of the fort, there is a huge hole in the mountain caused by years of wind erosion. It offers breath-taking views of surrounding peaks such as Kalsubai, AMK, Ajobagad. Around half way to Ratangad there is a cross trail which goes to Harishchandragarh.

The major attraction at Harishchandragarh is KokanKada cliff which is not just vertical but an overhang like a cobra's hood. It’s beyond description and one must see it to experience the nature's architecture. In evening the sunset provides the divine feeling of being in the heaven.
