Via Ferrata Derived from the Italian meaning Steel Pathway , began when World War 1 occurs and Italy and Austria are competing to create a passage in the Dolomite mountains to serve as logistic supply trajectory . After the war ended Via ferrata track there serves not only as a tourist destination but also to study the historical sites and the war that had happened . Generally Via Ferrata has become channels of rock climbing with special safety devices that offer the beauty and thrill of climbing without having to have special abilities .
