Meet at Turtles Fountain at 10am or 4pm to start your two-hour two-wheeled adventure with a local guide and a maximum of three other travelers. After a brief orientation, you’ll strap on your helmet, grab an included audio guide, and set off to absorb Rome’s history and views, with a tour leader, segway, helmet, coffee, water, sunscreen, and a poncho (if it rains) included. Your first stop in the Eternal City is the Jewish Quarter, and Temple of Hercules where your leader will explain the Mouth of Truth’s legend. Head toward Aventine Hill, one of the city’s seven major hills, for a panoramic view of St. Peter’s Basilica and the Tiber River from the Garden of Oranges. At Circus Maximus, pose at the former chariot race stadium, then travel past a second major hill, Palatine, to reach the Colosseum, Rome’s most iconic building. After time for more photos, glide past the Forum and up a third major hill, Capitoline, to learn about the piazza designed by Michelangelo, and catch more views. You’ll head past Marcellus Theater on the way back to the tour office in Central Rome ending at noon or 6pm, depending on your start time.
